When it comes to DNS, there's nothing we love more - except DNS management. And maybe Secondary DNS. Or Failover. Even anomaly detection. Oh who are we kidding, if it's even remotely close to the topic of DNS, we got you covered!
Constellix Sonar is revolutionizing the way users are notified of “need to know” issues with a fully customizable suite of notification tools.
Reston, VA (PRWEB) June 30, 2015
Constellix Sonar offers a variety of customizable notification settings that allow users to select who will be notified, when, and decide when users will be opted out of alerts. Constellix President Steven Job designed Sonar on the principals of,
“you need to be in the know of your web performance on the basis of what you want, when you want it, and who should be receiving notifications.”
The idea originated from Job receiving a steady influx of emails, notifying him at least once every hour of the status of his domains and their corresponding web performance. This problem inspired the concept behind Sonar. Users need to be assured that they will only be notified of important, critical action-requiring events.
Users become desensitized after a certain point of receiving constant emails. When inboxes become flooded with unnecessary information, slight shifts in performance, or outliers; users will mistakenly overlook the dire issues that are buried beneath the excess messages.
One of the most innovative features of Sonar is Shift Aware Notifications which allows users to customize which contacts will receive notifications based on indicated events during a specified time. Users can specify shift hours for designated contacts to receive alerts only when on the clock. These times can actively be changed for a more dynamic notification system.
Sonar goes a step further with Role Based Contacts which allow users to group specific contacts who require notification of particular events. For example, if you have a set of contacts who need to know when there is a risk of a DDoS attack, only that group will be notified when Sonar senses a possible event.
If your organization has multiple teams or groups working on different projects, Preconfigured Groups provide users with the flexibility to ensure all team members are aware of system monitoring events pertaining to their precise project.
One of the most anticipated and highly requested features is Scheduled Downtime. This feature allows users to specify particular rules on a monitored server. During regularly scheduled maintenance hours, this feature can be customized to not notify users of downed servers and other events.
Finally, Sonar offers a new feature called Delayed Notifications which allow users to prioritize notifications by controlling when they are delivered. For example, a user configures Sonar to run a check every 30 seconds, then sets the Delayed Notification to two minutes. The user will only be notified if their system is down for two continuous minutes. In addition, Sonar keeps logs of every instance the system goes down, located on the Constellix dashboard.
“Avoid becoming inundated with unnecessary information, free up your inbox for only those mission critical objectives,” urges Job. For a limited time, DNS Made Easy members can try Constellix Sonar for free.
